GuideTech CTIA Timing Instruments Experiencing Rapid Adoption
Over 300 systems installed worldwide on growing number of diverse applications
Sunnyvale, CA and SEMICON, San Francisco, July 11, 2006 – GuideTech, the leading provider of high-throughput performance-gap-filling ATE solutions, today announced that its GT4000 CTIA-based precision jitter and timing test solution is experiencing rapid adoption rates and garnering high praise from customers and subcontract test facilities worldwide. The GT4000 extends test capabilities on legacy and new ATE systems while enabling AC timing test at throughput speeds unmatched in any production environment – making the GT4000 CTIA the semiconductor industry's most flexible and cost-effective solution for breaking test barriers of emerging high-speed clocks, PLLs and asynchronous serial interfaces. To-date GuideTech has installed over 300 CTIA systems worldwide since its first shipments in Fall 2000.
"SPIL has been offering GuideTech CTIA capability to its fabless customers since 2000 starting with manufacturing test verification of PLLs on high-volume graphics controller and cell phone chips," stated Robert Tsai, Director of Test R&D at SPIL. "Today the GuideTech CTIA is being demanded by customers with devices like WiFi Wireless LAN and DVD Laser Driver Controllers for high-throughput testing of high-speed serial interfaces like LVDS and PCI Express."
"iTest works closely with GuideTech to provide high-throughput CTIA capability on the Teradyne IP750 that is required to ensure performance of the 400Mbps-plus serial interfaces that are now replacing slower parallel buses on the latest mobile phone CMOS image sensor devices," stated Mr. E.S Han, Purchasing Manager, iTest Test Technology Team. "Customer satisfaction is important for our business and GuideTech has played a big role in ensuring the quality of our customers' devices in the most cost effective way."
"Too often testers must sacrifice running important tests on advanced technologies because their current systems are incapable of performing the appropriate tasks," said Tammy Lee McClure, GuideTech VP Marketing. “The GT4000 eliminates this long-standing problem and makes cost-effective, high-speed, comprehensive test a reality."
Key capabilities driving the rapid adoption of the GT4000 include:
- Picosecond timing measurement accuracy & repeatability
- Fast test of asynchronous PLLs and serial interfaces like PCI Express in milliseconds, without CDRs or external arming
- Extending capital investments by enhancing any commercial ATE or in-house test system
About the GuideTech GT4000
The GuideTech GT4000 enables testers to cost-effectively tailor any test system, legacy, low-end, mid-range or high-end, to address specific test requirements. The GT4000 is being used for high-throughput production test of PCI Express, PLL, and Clock Phase Noise on consumer CMOS Imaging, WiFi and cell phone devices. Built on the company's flagship Femto 2000 CTIA, the GuideTEch GT4000 is now a de facto standard at all major fabless subcontract companies, including Carsem, StatsChipPac, ASE, SPIL, ChipMOS, KYC, and Amkor. Both the Femto 2000 and the GT4000 provide extremely cost-effective AC timing test at throughput speeds unmatched in any production environment and are integrated on numerous ATE Platforms including Teradyne, Agilent, Nextest and Credence.
